Chris is a Professor of Economics, Dean (Research) Griffith Business School. Formerly Director of the Griffith Institute for Tourism, Head of Research (Future Climate Transitions) for the Griffith Climate Action Beacon, and Director of Griffith University’s MBA program. He teaches, researches, consults and provides public policy advice on the economic determinants of wellbeing and the sustainable management of the world around us.
As an applied micro-economist, Chris' research interests include ecological and environmental economics, sustainable development, sustainable tourism, the determinants of subjective wellbeing, indigenous wellbeing and the economics of crime. Current research applies an economic lens to interdisciplinary projects with a sustainable development, climate change adaptation or conservation focus, particularly in the Pacific Islands region.
